It is a half an hour drive that brings us to the highest peak called Vojak (1401 m) which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Slovenian Alps and Triglav, Italian Dolomites, Istria, and Kvarner islands ( Krk, Cres, Zeča, Unije, Lošinj). When the sky is clear especially after the rain one can see, using binoculars, the city of Venice.
After meditating in peace while enjoying the breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape we head for Istria along the river Mirna canyon toward Ipši. In the small hamlet Ipši, we will visit the family estate which has been producing virgin olive oil for more than 20 years and has won many gold medals for quality. A tour, tasting and a visit to their shop can be arranged.
After we head for Paladini to visit the most famous oil truffle production in the region where we will see the first planned cultivation of truffles in the world. With prior notice it is possible to arrange to participate in truffle hunting, making and tasting traditional homemade truffle dishes.
Later in the afternoon, we go to a small village of Letaj to visit the cheesemaker for tasting of 3 types of cow’s milk cheese.
